One of a group of 15 watercolours made by Conrad Martens of Robert Fitzroy's voyage of the 'Beagle'. It depicts the bank of the Santa Cruz river where three men holding rifles are shooting at guanacoes, which are running away towards the top left section of the drawing. Three small boats can be seen moored on the river in the bottom right corner. This occured in Patagonia on 2 May 1834. See 'Conrad Martens's"Beagle" Pictures', no.190, in R.D.
