HMS Shannon
This print depicts the HMS Shannon at anchor off an unknown coast. The Shannon seems to be taking advantage of her calm surroundings; white cloths, possibly laundry or flags, hang from the rigging, and the guns are run out, presumably to dry. A spar is extended on the port side with the ship's tender tied to it, and another small boat is tied to the stern, ready for immediate use. A white building, possibly a custom's office, can be seen on the distant coastline.
