The wooden swallow-tail stock is covered with beaten brass and an ornate trigger is set into the stock. The lock is a flintlock. The barrel is made of steel, bound to the stock with beaten brass bands. The calibre is 0.75in. A crocodile or serpent and a bird are scratched on the side of the stock as well as '18 IX'. This would indicate the gun was captured during the Royal Navy's occupation of the Ionian islands during the Napoleonic wars. The rasak was one of the weapons carried by Napoleon's Balkan troops.
