Medal commemorating the ships burnt in the Medway and the proclamation of the Peace of Breda, 1667.

The obverse displays Peace with an olive branch and cornucopia seated upon a pile of arms supported by genii, the shields of France, Sweden, Denmark, England, Scotland, Ireland (left) and the Seven United Provinces (right); above is a scroll inscribed (incuse), 'SOLI DEO GLORIA' (To God alone the glory). Below there is a tablet inscribed: 'Den 6 Septemb. Ano. 1667 is de Vreede tuschen haar E Hoogm . en den Coningh van Groot. Britanien gepubliseert' (on 6 September 1667 is proclaimed the peace between their High Mightinesses and the King of Great Britain).

The reverse displays the burning of ships near Chatham. The stern of a sinking ship in the foreground and nearby a boat. Below there is a shell inscribed: 'Anno 1667 Door Order van haar E. Hoogh, Mog onder't belyt van d . Heer . R . Mich., A .d . Ruyter L. Ad. generaal syn besprongen, op de Revier van Chattan d'Coninks Oorlogh, Schepe en die verbrant en gesonke' (By order of their High Mightinesses and under the command of Sir Michael, son of Adrian de Ruyter, Lieutenant Admiral General, the ships of war of the King were attacked, burnt and sunk in the river of Chatham).

The medal can be identified as an imitation because the lettering here and there are incorrect.
