Medal commemorating the voyage to Naples of Philip V of Spain, 1702. Obverse: Bust of King Philip V, draped, in long curls; fur-lined mantle, showing bare neck. Below (illegible). Legend: 'PHILIPPVS . V . HISPANIARVM . REX.' (Philip V. King of the Spaniards.) Reverse: Neptune, crowned, standing in a sea shell in a calm sea, which gives a distant view of Italy and Sicily; above, a cherub's head blowing clouds (left), sun (right). Legend: 'SIC . CVNCTVS . PELAGI . CECIDIT . FRAGOR . VIR.AE.I.' (Thus ceased all the turmoil of the waves). Escorted by the French fleet, this marked the King's state entry into Naples.
