Pocket Globe
Terrestrial and celestial pocket globe. The maker's name appears in a cartouche in the southern Atlantic as 'Londini Sumptibus Phillip Lea'. The case is covered in sharkskin and has brass catches.
On the terrestrial sphere, California is drawn as an island. Only the north and west coasts of Australia (according to the Dutch discoveries), which is labelled 'Hollandia Nova'. Tasmania is labelled 'A. van Dimé' and New Zealand as 'Zealandia Nova'. There is no hypothetical southern continent. No tracks are marked.
The constellations on the inside of the case are coloured. The celestial projection is geocentric but the constellations are seen from the back.
