Counter commemorating the Manchester Ship Canal. Obverse: Bust of Daniel Adamson (three-quarter right). Obverse: 'DANIEL ADAMSON'. Reverse: A two-masted vessel under sail and steam. Legend: 'MANCHESTER SHIP CANAL DEMONSTRATION. OCT. 3RD 1885.' Daniel Adamson (1818-1890) was a promoter of the Manchester Ship Canal.
