Opening hours
There will be limited access to the Library until the opening of the new Library in 2012. Appointments will be needed to view most material. See Access to Archive and Library’s collections during the construction of the Sammy Ofer Wing for more information.

Membership
Anyone over 16 years of age with a research enquiry can gain access to the Reading Room. Entry is obtained by applying for a reader's ticket. Reader's tickets are valid for one year. To obtain a reader's ticket you need to:
- show a form of identification containing your name and signature: for example a credit card, passport or driving licence
- fill in our 'Reader's Ticket Application Form' available in the E-Library
- have a photograph taken of you by Library staff in the E-Library.
E-Library
The E-Library is free and open to museum visitors of all ages and interests. Access to electronic resources and collections websites is provided via public computers, as well as a comfortable seating area to browse books.
The E-Library also provides:
- an enquiry desk run by skilled library staff
- reception and entrance to the Caird Library Reading Room
The E-library is located next to the Caird Library (see Floor plan, NMM level 2).
