The Dutch fleet in light airs 1 June 1665

On the right is a starboard quarter view of a large ship with pendant at the mizzen. Further to the right is a ship numbered ‘32’. In the centre distance are two ships numbered ‘28’ and ‘29’. On the left two ships are numbered ‘26’ and ‘27’. In the left foreground, a starboard broadside view of a galjoot before the wind with her topsail set but mainsail brailed.

There are drawings by the Elder and the Younger dated in the early part of May, but this drawing is the earliest one known showing the Elder during the fleet movements leading to the battle of Lowestoft.
